- - > Wim Wenders knows how to direct the livin' fuck out of a flick. His fucktastic brilliance is beyond words. The combo of Wenders and cinematographer, Robby Müller, is motherfuck fuckerific! Wow! The American Friend might be the best looking picture I've ever seen. The color red is on fire. The camera knows just where to go. Wenders goes all sneaky snake and has directors such as Samuel Fuller and Nicholas Ray, act as baddies. There's non-stop tension at the subway, and on a train. There's a nice hint of neo-noir, with a bombastic musical score. I love the combo of German and English. Everyone speaks the language they're supposed to. The ending is satisfying, and I'm so glad I found this flick. < - -
